... and God is a superstition
Pop likes Palin. Says she's "a fighter." hmpf. Go figure.

For what it's worth, my pop, were he still kicking, would've wept with joy at the nomination of McCain: "A Vietnam vet? Not too terribly religious, yet still absurdly conservative? Hot damn, whatta guy!" I do wonder, however, if the issues surrounding Palin would leave him in a painful quandary, unsure who would garner his support. The idea of one of his girls becoming preggers in high school would be impossible for my dad to imagine, but McCain? The squirrely vet? From 'Nam? Yargh......
The New York Times article about her time as mayor gives me fear:
"Ann Kilkenny, a Democrat who said she attended every City Council meeting in Ms. Palin’s first year in office, said Ms. Palin brought up the idea of banning some books at one meeting. “They were somehow morally or socially objectionable to her,” Ms. Kilkenny said.
"The librarian, Mary Ellen Emmons, pledged to “resist all efforts at censorship,” Ms. Kilkenny recalled. Ms. Palin fired Ms. Emmons shortly after taking office but changed course after residents made a strong show of support."
Want to get on my dark side, go ahead, ban some books. Take on some films too.
When the empire takes control you know where to find me.
